Meeting with Petfie

On 15 July, we had another meeting with Petfie as requested by Jerome.

He emailed me and asked if we can meet up at his office to discuss about our current activities and the results.

During the meeting, he told us about how we can improve our images by choosing images which matches more towards the topic that we are going to post and images of higher pixels and resolution.

We also discussed on the prizes for our giveaway event about how we are going to deliver the prizes to the winners and the types of prizes to be given out.

Below would be a summary of what was discussed on 15 July:

1. Changing the community dog to cat instead for our DMB video. 
2. Try to promote the dog shelter instead of just the app 
3. The giveaway: maybe can put the pamphlet together with the item. (Deliver to their houses) 
4. The giveaway: prizes change every week / change the prizes given 
5. The posts: change the graphics (match topic with photos)/(add web links) : www.searchcreativecommons.com 

Meeting with Petfie during HBL Week

During the HBL week, we had a meeting with Petfie on Wednesday in his office and we discussed about the giveaway that is on-going. Jerome had suggestions for us like where we could find photos of pets with high resolutions for our Facebook and Instagram posts. He also gave us comments on how to improve the quality of our posts to attract more activity among readers and users. 

Furthermore, we discussed about our DMB video plan with him and showed him the storyboard. Below is the storyboard.

He agreed to let us film the video at the pet shelter, Blk 2 Fur Canines. We made some changes to our storyboard, adding in comments and suggestions given by Mr Lynus and Jerome and went ahead to film our video at the pet shelter on Saturday, as it was only their free day. 

On Saturday, we met at the Pet Shelter and filmed our video. It was really difficult to film with dogs as compared to humans. The challenging part was to get the dogs to move the way and direction we wanted, the key point was that we could only have one take. The dog would not go the same direction again if we had multiple takes. We hope that the final video would be up to Jerome's expectations.

CA2 Practical 3 presentation

We have successfully presented our research on both local and overseas companies to our class today. To add on, we have also planned our contents to post on Petfie. Jasilyn is incharge of promoting the sponsors, Joshua- promote giveaway, QinHan- promote petfie app, Renzo- pet news and i will be posting about interesting pet facts. It has already been scheduled on Facebook and all we have to do is to post on their Instagram daily. Our giveaway is being delayed and will be reposted to involve more pet owners to join the giveaway. For the time being, we will just be posting on the social media and work on the giveaway.

We have successfully posted our first post on Petfie's Facebook and Instagram! We are all very happy to gain admin rights to the page!

Emails sent to sponsors, bloggers and youtubers

After seeking the approval of Jiunn Ngee and Jerome on the list of sponsors, bloggers and youtubers that we intend to find to help promote Petfie, emails were being sent out on 16 June 2015. The emails were sent to Jiunn Ngee and Jerome being sending out to check on the contents and to make any changes to it if there is. Below are the images of the emails being sent out.
 

Facebook and Instagram draft posts

We finished the drafts of the contents that we want to help Petfie post on their Facebook and Instagram on Wednesday and we sent it out to Jerome and Jiunn Ngee that night itself. Just in case they did not know, I whatsapp them to inform them that I have sent out an email with an atttachment, which is the excel document containing our drafts. Meanwhile, we are working on our slides and waiting for the replies of the companies, youtubers and bloggers which we have sent out the emails quite a while ago. 

June Holiday Plans for Execution

On 6 June, we went to Jasilyn's house to discuss about our execution plans and have sent out emails for collaboration with companies. We also discussed about the video tutorial plans for Petfie, we plan to go down to Jasilyn's friend house to film the tutorial and have already submitted our storyboard to Lynus. To add on, We have also separated ourselves into the local and overseas groups for the CA2 part 1 of the project. Joshua and I are in the overseas company group while Jasilyn, Qin Han and Renzo are in the local company group. 

During the holidays, we have also submitted our draft of the facebook and instagram posts for Petfie accounts to Jerome. We did it on excel sheets and sent it to him.

Furthermore, we started on our research for our specific companies. For me and Joshua, we chose yummypets for our overseas company because they have 5 social media platforms for us to research on. They are also active on their facebook platform, which made it easier for us to do our analysis on their company. We started doing our slides and are almost done with it.
